Pensoft going to the German Ecological Society’s 53rd annual conference
Pensoft will take part in the German Ecological Society’s 53rd annual conference, taking place on 9-13 September, 2024, in Freising, Germany. Entitled “The future of sustainable land use across ecosystems, landscapes and biomes,” the conference will discuss ways to implement sustainable agricultural, forestry, and urban land use, incorporating the latest advances in basic and appllied ecology.
The publisher will have a stand at the event, where visitors can explore the range of open-access ecological journals such as One Ecosystem. The publisher will also be showcasing the ARPHA Platform, a comprehensive tool for journal management and publishing.
As part of the programme, Iva Boyadzhieva, head of journal development, PR and marketing at Pensoft, will lead an interactive lunch session on Wednesday, 11 September, from 12:45 to 13:45. Her session is entitled “Open data publishing in biodiversity science and ecology” and will discuss existing challenges and solutions experienced by ecology and biodiversity researchers in data publishing.
Additionally, Pensoft will highlight its involvement in several key projects in ecology. For example, the company is in charge of project management, communication, dissemination and engagement in SELINA, a project aimed at supporting the protection, restoration, and sustainable use of the environment.
Within REST-COAST, a research action dealing with coastal ecosystem restoration, Pensoft is responsible for dissemination, exploitation and social transformation tools, enabling society to better understand the hurdles of climate change and human interventions to the biodiversity and ecology of coastal ecosystems.
