One Ecosystem joins the 4th ESP Europe Conference in October!
Between 10th and 14th October 2022, the annual event of the Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP) will be taking place in the stunning capital city of the Greek island of Crete, but also online, as the conference is adopting a hybrid format once more.
Under the theme “Ecosystem services empowering people and societies in times of crises”, the conference is to bring together a wide range of stakeholders, including researchers, practitioners and policy makers, but also members of the general public, activist communities and civil society organisations. Their common task will be to pave new ways for the engagement of diverse societal groups in ecosystem services science, policy and practice.
“The science of ecosystem services has come of age globally. The data revolution of the last decades has allowed us to measure, quantify, model, and map human-nature interactions; yet to use all this information to support public and private decision-making remains a challenge,” notes the Partnership.
“Ecosystem service science and practice need to actively work with and within individuals and communities who depend on nature for their well-being and often lose the most during emerging crises.”
Abiding by the tradition, One Ecosystem and the journal’s publisher Pensoft join in the conference as sponsors and exhibitors, where they will give three Best Talk awards, including a complimentary publication.
Participants at the conference will be welcome to visit Pensoft’s stand at the conference venue and find more about Pensoft’s open-access journal portfolio, including One Ecosystem, as well as the European Union-funded projects SELINA and BESTMAP, where Pensoft’s project team takes care after the communication and dissemination activities.
